I'm lacking coffee at the moment, so this is a sad way to link. Don't make my mistake! Get comfy with a nice beverage and snack before heading through the list this week. It's a big one!
-First up Entertainment Weekly flashed the cover and slipcase art (kindly brought to you by the folks over at the Hob) for the upcoming Hunger Games the collectors edition. They changed the mockingbird which I'm not sure I'm crazy about, I kinda love the original books. Head on over to the Hob for more info on the contents and for further Links to Scholastic and EW for more of the story. Also word on the street is you can pre-order The Hunger Games: Collector's Edition from amazon (click on the link to do so folks), at a crazy good discount.
-Laini Taylor has exciting news about Daughter of Smoke and Bone and the hype already surrounding it (can you catch the hype reference in the photo perhaps?). Apparently the Wall Street Journal Online used this picture and talked about how it and Night Circus are the two most anticipated books of the year! I'm hardly surprised, I adored D of S & B, and it had some pretty great hype at the BEA. Of course Night Circus had some pretty out of control hype as well.
The hubby scored me a copy on the fly (I had woefully not heard of it until that moment), and sent those I was in line with into fits of jealousy. Secret BEA weapon that hubby is. Anywho, it's coming out soon so I better get on the reading wagon before I miss out!
-Laini also posted a lovely count down widget. Head on over to her blog to grab the code for yourself (and of course for further linkage to the wall street journal bit).
- Allyson Condie (author of Matched and the soon to be released Crossed) has been answering your writing questions over on her blog. Check out part one and part two if you have any burning questions or for the fun of hearing how she does it (always the part that interests me the most).
- What kind of Link Salad would this be if I didn't include a link to a teaser from Cassandra Clare? None at all I should think; possibly something a bit post-apocalyptic. Anywho, posted is her Clockwork Prince teaser for August and it's from Magnus Bane.
- Finally the bit I'm most excited about this week!! Olympian Week Details have been revealed, and the seven mystery stops on Rick Riordan's tour for Son of Neptune has been announced!! I may have to continue my Rick signature mania and see him again as he's coming to TORONTO!!! If you haven't been before and have a chance to see Rick make sure you do. He's charming and lovely and makes the long waits well worth it. Also, on one stop he's arriving on a yacht people. So expect fun and exciting things on every stop. So look for me at Indigo on October 6th!
Now I'm off to find some of this teasing decaf coffee already. Happy Saturday and happy linking!
