New Year, A New Blog
So I won't lie.
Pulling my head out of whatever my current book might be (Leviathan, Scott Westerfeld), for long enough to write about them, might be a bit of a challenge. And I'm certainly not getting up at the crack of dawn to religiously write everyday before work! Which is what Julie Powell apparently did when she made her blogging resolution and started her now well publicized blog.
On the other hand, my laptop will hang out with me on the chaise lounge just as well as the books will, so I'm going to attempt to give some greater use to my prolific bookwormy ways.
Hopefully I can do my 90+ books a year some justice, and you'll pick one or two of them up. Then you can write me, and we can gush about what a great read that particular book was. Or you can just read this blog when you're bored at work.
That works too.
Deep right? And yet not only did you keep reading but you asked your friends to come and join you. YAY YOU!
So here are a couple of fun stats for you. In 2010 I posted 229 blog posts, and reviewed 101 books. I started Giving Me the Creeps October and Feline Fridays, interviewed a couple of authors and hosted my first few Giveaways.
In 2011 I posted 280 blog posts and 111 reviews (with several other read books that I just haven't gotten the reviews out for yet!). In 2011 I went to the BEA and BBC, and met up with a load of Ontario Book Bloggers in Toronto. I joined Twitter (egads! Twitter you eater of all spare time!!), and saw my first ever print reviews in YYZ Living Magazine. I started the Saturday Link Salad, and hosted an even bigger Giving Me the Creeps October.
And to prove how thankful I am, a GIVEAWAY!! One of the books I couldn't stop raving about this year, released just the other day in Canada and comes out in just a couple of short weeks in the US, Fracture by Megan Miranda. So I'm putting my money where my mouth is and offering one of you a copy of your very own, you just have to promise to rapsodize about it to all who will listen. Open Internationally (wherever the Book Depository ships too), fill out the form below and you're in- nothing else required of you! Contest open until January 18th. BONUS EXTRA!! Now you're copy will come with a signed bookplate from Megan herself!!
