Sunday Link Salad

It's been a quieter week then most on the interwebs, when it comes to book news, possibly in anticipation of May- the month we all go broke from the glut of new releases.  But I have some goodies for you, so make sure to link onwards.

-Michelle Hodkin revealed the Title of the next Mara Dyer book, and Goodreads got the reveal of the beautiful cover and blurb with release date!  This is going to be one well titled and pretty triliogy! There is also a Pin-ing contest for an expert and ARC's up for grabs for you USA folks.

-The Free Four attempts have worked! Check out his 13 page POV of the knife throwing scene in Divergent.  It's awesome and makes me want to re-read Divergent before Insurgent comes out.  Sigh, so many books, so little time!

-The BEA has started listing author signings way earlier than usual!  Time to sit down and start planning your attack.  I've bought my BEA shoes and was breaking them in yesterday, because the show can now be measured in weeks from it's start date!

-At the crazy twitter party for the launch of Julie Kagawa's The Immortal Rules there were some surprises!  Starting with the cover reveal for the The Lost Prince, and then a day later the cover for the Iron Legends was revealed as well.  I'm not sure I like either as much as the first ones but I like they're keeping with the over all look of the series.

-In further news, Julie's going to be judging a writing contest on Figment.com.  The grand prize is a half hour talk with Julie herself about publishing and the Iron Fey series! What fun.

-Ever wonder a little about radical repackaging of covers when the soft cover comes out?  Elizabeth Miles series Fury is having one with the release of book two Envy and the paperback of Fury.  She has an interesting interview with Simon and Schuster's Associate Art Director about how it happens, why and how they choose the new direction.  You can also get a look at the new covers, if you haven't seen them already.

-The next few weeks are monster release dates, among the new books is the final part in Aprilynne Pikes Wings trilogy- Destined.  She's got a new teaser to wet your appetite while you wait the final few days.  Also out in the next couple of weeks is Amy Plum's follow up to Die for Me- Until I Die.  HarperTeen is also doing a sneak peek.

-Finally, in BBC news, earlier this week it was announced that The Bloggess was going to be attending the BBC.  I think this was one of the most exciting announcements to come out of either the BBC or BEA so far, and Twitter was all a flutter with the news.  Yesterday the details were announced, she'll be doing the closing session, which pretty much insures no early departures this year!  Check out the full BBC schedule for details.

-And finally, a little unidentified snippet about the lightwoods via Cassie Clare's Tumblr.

Now go forth and Sunday on, and eat some bacon for me.
